Bollywood Director Ram Madhvani To Direct New Web Series Based On Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

Neerja and Arya’s Director Ram Madhvani is all set to release a new web series which is set against the backdrop of an infamous event in Indian colonial history, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which took place on April 13, 1919. The title of his project is ‘The Walking of a Nation’. 

According to the reports of Koimoi Madhvani recently unveiled that the series will in “six-part or seven-part, which is going to talk about the commission, so it’s a bit like a court case, but it also talks about what happened, what led to it and what happened after it, which I think is as important as what happened on the day. Why did Jallianwala Bagh happen? And I think a lot of us don’t know why it happened – we know what happened, but what led to it?”

Further, the final draft of the script will be ready in two months time. Moreover, The massacre is considered to be a pivotal moment in the Indian freedom movement. A commission, led by Lord Hunter, was appointed by the British Indian government in October of that year, to look into the events in Punjab.

Meanwhile, on workfront, Madhvani is all set to come up with his film ‘Dhamaka’ on Netflix on November 19. The upcoming film features Kartik Aaryan in the lead role.

Not only this, Karan Johar has also been coming up with ‘The untold story of C Sankaran Nair’. It will show the life of this revolutionary freedom fighter and the case fought by him against the British Raj. It is inspired by the book written by Raghu Palat, great-grandson of C Sankaran Nair, ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’.
