Bollywood Film Producer and director Karan Johar has announced his next project titled ‘The Untold Story Of C Sankaran Nair’. The film director felt extremely honoured to announce the movie showing the life events of the great C Sankaran Nair, on Tuesday.
Not many people know who C Sankaran Nair was, but all of us are familiar with the infamous Jallianwala Bagh incident that took place on 13 April, 1919 at present day Amritsar, Punjab. The massacre led by General O’dyer is considered one of the deadliest massacres in the history of the country and marks one of the most important events leading to the freedom struggle of India.
Thousands of non-violent protesters gathered at the Jalliawala Bagh were openly fired at, leading to immeasurable deaths and casualties. Some sources suggest that more than 1000 people died and over 1500 were injured in the infamous incident.
C Sankaran is the man who took the matter to the courtroom to reveal all the truth about this incident. The brave man fought with the whole British Raj in the courtroom, single handedly.
‘The untold story of C Sankaran Nair’ will show the life of this revolutionary freedom fighter and the case fought by him against the British Raj. It is inspired by the book written by Raghu Palat, great-grandson of C Sankaran Nair, ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’.
The story and the case is extremely important to be brought to light and this is an amazing step by Karan Johar to showcase this on the big screen.
