After suffering a theatrical release postponement, Chal Mera Putt 2 officially made its worldwide theatrical re-release on 27 October, 2021. If it’s performance at the box office wasn’t enough, the film has now added a rare feat to its name. It is soon to become the first ever Punjabi film to be screened at ‘Caleidoscope Indian Film Festival Of Boston’.
Starring Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal in the lead, Chal Mera Putt 2 had huge expectations from the audience. The major reason behind it was the unmatchable success of the first installment of the series. The movie was exactly what we expected and its performance at the box office is enough to reveal that. But now, the director of the movie, Janjot Singh has shared the news of the unimaginable feat achieved by the movie.
No Punjabi movie has ever been screened at the ‘Caleidoscope Indian Film Festival Of Boston’. Interestingly, the festival is the largest Indian Film Festival in the New England region of the United States. It is also the only film festival in its area that is officially recognized by the IMDB. The historical city of Boston in itself is a representation of true art, education and cultural diversity all over the world and Caleidoscope’s purpose is also the same. It provides a stage for the film from the Indian subcontinent to reach a wider global audience.
The 2021 festival was held from October 22 to 24. The 2022 Festival will be its 8th year. It is a matter of pride for the whole Punjabi Industry and the Punjabi community as a whole that Chal Mera Putt 2 will be representing our industry at a global stage. The whole Chal Mera Putt 2 team worked hard to make the film and they are finally going to receive their much-deserved award.
