Court Lifts Ban On Diljit Dosanjh And Parineeti Chopra Starrer Bollywood Movie ‘Chamkila’

After making waves at the global level with the recently released movie Jodi, there comes another great news for Diljit fans as the court has lifted the ban from Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer Chamkila. 

The multitalented Imtiaz Ali directed the film and was in its post-production phase when a civil court judge Harsimranjit Singh stayed its release on March 21.

Civil Judge Senior Division Sumit Makkar denied the petitioner’s request for a stay during the hearing. The next hearing of the case is scheduled to be held on July 7. Reliance Entertainment, Imtiaz Ali Producers, and others, in addition to Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Gurmail Kaur, were previously ordered to broadcast, release, and upload the biopic of Amar Singh Chamkila and Bibi Amarjot Kaur by the then-Civil Judge, Senior Division, Harsimranjit Singh. The writ petition was filed by Patiala-based Ishdeep Randhawa, who claimed that Gurmail Kaur, Chamkila’s first wife, had granted his father, Gurdev Randhawa, rights to make a biopic about the singer in a written agreement in 2012.

The movie is a biopic of the sensational Punjabi singers Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur. The film takes us into their life story and how the couple was assassinated along with the members of their musical band on March 8, 1988.  

As per the new reports, the stay on the film has been removed, and Chamkila will release on the OTT platform ‘Netflix’ very soon.
