1. Sushant Singh Rajput
Renowned actor late Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide in June 2020. However, there had been an all-time heated debate over his death. While the investigation said it was a suicide, some believed it wasn’t, claiming that Sushant was murdered. Furthermore, this belief strengthened now as the guy who conducted Sushant’s postmortem, claimed that he saw various marks on his body but when he informed his seniors, they told him to follow the rules!

2. Tunisha Sharma
Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul-fame Tunisha Sharma‘s death has shocked the country. Reportedly, the 20-year-old eminent actress’ committed suicide on the sets of a TV program at Vasai, Palghar. Notably, as stated by the police officials, Tunisha went to the washroom but didn’t return for long, after which she was found hanging inside, when the door was broken.
The police have been investigating the matter and Tunisha’s ex boyfriend Sheezan Khan has been taken in custody. As claimed by Tunisha’s uncle, Sheezan is the one responsible for Tunisha’s suicide.
3. Kushal Punjabi
The tragic death of actor Kushal Punjabi, 42, left the Indian film and television industries in shock, just a few days before the year 2020 was commemorated. Kushal made an appearance in films by Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar, and UTV, including “Lakshya,” “Kaal,” and “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal.” However, he committed suicide on December 26. He was allegedly depressed, according to reports.
4. Soujanya
Soujanya, a renowned Kannada small-screen actress was found dead on October 1 in a flat close to Doddabele hamlet on the outskirts of Bengaluru city in the neighboring Ramnagar district. Notably, a four-page message was left by Soujanya before she allegedly killed herself. “I thank you all. I’m not in a good place mentally. Internal health problems are killing me. So doing this made me feel better. I’m truly sorry. I don’t even feel like doing this right now. However, Pappa, Maa, I apologise, I love you unconditionally,” read her suicide note.

5. Sejal Sharma
Eminent Indian TV actress late Sejal Sharma was found dead at her Mumbai house on January 24, just a short time after Kushal Punjabi’s death. According to reports, the actress from “Dil Toh Happy Hai” was under a lot of stress as a result of her parents’ failing health. Her hard life experience were also referenced in a suicide letter that was also purportedly found at the time.
6. Manmeet Grewal
The Indian TV actor, who appeared in some famous programmes like “Aadat Se Majboor” and “Kuldeepak,” committed suicide in the month of May at his Navi Mumbai house. The actor reportedly had debt problems and struggled to find employment while India was under lockdown due to the Covid pandemic. According to reports, the 32-year-old actor’s wife found him hanging in the bedroom.
7. Disha Salin
Disha Salian, the former manager of late Sushant Singh Rajput, was reported dead on June 8 after allegedly falling or jumping off the 14th story of her fiance’s Malad house. Five days after Salian’s death, Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide.
Moreover, both these names are again trending as after the postmortem staff’s claim on Sushant’s death, the investigation files of both are being planned to be opened again by the authorities.

8. Preksha Mehta
TV actress late Preksha Mehta, 25, committed suicide on May 26 at her home in Indore. Moreover, the police discovered her body hanging, along with a suicide note. Reportedly, she was under depression due to loss of work during the Covid lockdown. Notably, her suicide note says that she was stressed due to failed relationship and career issues.
9. Susheel Gowda
Renowned TV actor late Susheel Gowda, 32, was allegedly committed suicide at his hometown in July, according to reports that surfaced when Bollywood was still in mourning over the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Gowda’s body was found hanging Notably, he was famous for his role in the television series “Anthapura.” In addition to acting in a few Kannada films, Gowda started acting in Kannada television serials in 2015.
10. Asif Basra
One of the most famous actors in Indian Film Industry late Asif Basra, who was famous globally for his role in ‘Outsourced’, and was seen in various movies like films including ‘Black Friday’, ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Parzania’, was found dead in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, on November 12. As per the police, Asif committed suicide.
11. Sandeep Nahar
Indian TV Actor late Sandeep Nahar reportedly committed suicide on February 15 in Mumbai. Nahar was found hanged at his house, according to police reports. Hours before he was discovered dead by his wife, Nahar posted a note on Facebook about his intention to kill himself. Nahar expressed dissatisfaction with his life in a video posted on his social media account, both personally and professionally. He was known for his roles in movies like “Kesari” and “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story“.

12. Chitra
Late Chitra, a Tamil actress, hostess, and VJ, was found dead on December 9 in a Chennai hotel room. The 29-year-old star of “Pandian Stories” is believed to have committed suicide, and investigations are ongoing. Reportedly, Chitra checked into her hotel room at 1am following a shoot. She was an active user of social media and posted images of herself wearing a sari on her Instagram page, a few hours before she allegedly committed suicide.
13. Sameer Sharma
Sameer Sharma, a 44-year-old television actor who rose to fame after appearing in famous TV shows like “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi,” was found dead at his Mumbai house on August 5, 2021. According to the police report, the actor hanged himself. The late actor’s social media messages suggested that he might have been struggling with depression. The actor posted a little clip he had shot on Facebook on July 20. The film, titled “The Cut,” is about the psychological impact of isolation brought on by lockdown on a person who lives alone.
14. Jiah Khan
Jiah Khan, 25-year-old rising Bollywood actress, was found dead at her Mumbai home on June 3, 2013 by her mother, Rabia Khan. After the actress took her life, Jiah’s mother blamed Sooraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi for the death of her daughter. In the case, Sooraj, who was in a relationship with Jiah Khan, had allegedly abetted the actor’s suicide. However, Jiah’s mother has been alleging that her daughter was murdered, and that she could not have taken her own life. Rabia also pleaded to Bombay High Court to reopen her daughter’s death case in 2022 but was rejected by the court. Before her death, Jiah was seen in ‘Nishabd‘ alongside Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Ghajini‘ with Aamir Khan, ‘Housefull‘ with Akshay Kumar and in many other projects as well.
15. Pratyusha Banerjee
The Balika Vadhu famed actress shockingly ended her life on April 1, 2016 and left the industry in mourning. The 24-year-old, Pratyusha Banerjee was found hanging in her Mumbai Oshiwara house. One of the main factors that motivated her to take this drastic action was her bad relationship with her then partner Rahul Raj Singh. Additionally, there were claims of domestic abuse and physical violence in her relationship with Singh. The post-mortem report of Banerjee also suggested an early pregnancy. The actress apparently desired marriage and motherhood but when things didn’t go her way, she took her life to finish it all…

So, these were the 15 actors who gave up their lives, amongst which, many committed suicide during the Covid lockdown. On the other hand, Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salin’s death were suspicious.
