‘Nutty The YouTuber’ Flees Abroad After Alleged $55 Million Forex Scam From Followers

A popular Thai Youtuber Natthamon Khongchak flees abroad after allegedly cheating $55Million from her followers in the sake of a forex trade. Reportedly, the popular Youtuber star has defrauded over 6,000 victims.

Natthamon Khongchak popularly known as Nutty The Youtuber has allegedly cheated thousands of her followers to swindle about $55 million through a foreign exchange trading scam that reportedly promised hefty returns on their investments.

Nutty has more than 847,000 subscribers on a YouTube channel, where she posts dance videos. The popular Youtuber also advertised private courses for aspiring forex traders on her Instagram account, posting images of what she said were her profits. 

A public lawyer who is helping alleged fraud victims led 30 people to file complaints against Natthamon. Phaisal claimed that over 6,000 people gave Nutty money to invest in forex trading. He added that Nutty used her popularity to lure her followers.

According to a report, Nutty The Youtuber made  promises of returns of as much as 35% to her customers on their investments. In her last Instagram post, in May, Natthamon Khongchak said she owed 1 billion baht ($27.5 million) to investors.

She posted a video to reveal her debt and claimed that her broker had blocked her trading account and funds since March. Through the video she admitted that she had made a mistake in trading & lost all the money but promised to repay her investors.

A Thailand police unit involved in internet crimes issued an arrest warrant for fraud against Natthamon Khongchak, according to Wattana Ketumpai, a police officer at the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau.Wattana also said, “Thai police has received complaints from 102 people claiming they had lost a total of 30 million baht (₹6.54 Crores) so far”.

“New victims come forward nearly every day, with most claiming to have lost tens of thousands of baht,” Wattana further said. The numbers could be higher, he also said, as complaints may have been lodged with other police stations.

Wattana also added to his statement that Natthamon Khongchak hasn’t been seen active on social media since June, followers are speculating that she’s fled the country. Still, immigration records show she hasn’t left Thailand.
