Chandigarh is on its way to become the Mumbai of Punjab. The capital city is soon going to become the film city of Punjab. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi recently announced that a film city will be built in Chandigarh. It is planned to be built adjacent to the city of Chandigarh.

Shooting a film requires the filmmaking team to choose various locations. Sometimes the film setting also requires the team to shoot overseas or in difficult remote locations. Film cities are sort of ready-made sets that provide space for movies to be shot. Chandigarh Film City will surely help in providing easily accessible shooting locations for Punjabi movies.
