Sidhu Moosewala’s Parents End Protest Demanding Justice For Late Son

Its been months since the passing of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. The singer was brutally assassinated on 29 May 2022. And since then, his father and fans are fighting to seek justice for his murder. On the morning of 7 March 2023, Sidhu Moosewala sat for a protest outside Punjab Vidhan Sabha seeking CBI probe in their son’s murder. 

Some congress leaders also joined Balkaur Singh Sidhu and Charan Kaur in their protest for their son. Congress leader Sukhjinder Randhawa, along with other Congress leaders, demanded the inclusion of Baltej Pannu, media advisor to CM Bhagwant Mann, in the FIR of the murder of the singer.

They demanded the imposition of Section 120-B against the media advisor for allegedly leaking information about the scaling down of the security of Moosewala. According to news agency ANI, Balkaur Singh said, “In the past 10 months, I went to the police and administration several times. I was assured of justice. But they are brushing the murder of my child under the carpet. Nothing is going in my favour. So, I had to come to the state Assembly.” 

But now finally, they have ended their protest. Yes, Sidhu Moosewala’s parents have been convinced by Punjab cabinet minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal. The MLA has assured a meeting with Punjab’s Chief minister Bhagwant Mann to Sidhu Moosewala’s father after 20 March 2023.

Sidhu Moosewala’s parents accepted Kuldeep Dhaliwal’s assurance but have stated that they will come back with a greater protest if the government fails to meet their demands and provide justice to their late son.
