Diljit Decides To Stand By His Family During 1984 Riots In Jogi’s Emotional Teaser

Diljit Dosanjh is a name that has earned the love and massive appreciation from all. Raised from Punjabi Music and Film Industry, Diljit made a special space for himself in Bollywood also. And now, the singer and actor is looking forward to the release of his special Bollywood project called ‘Jogi’.

Jogi is going to be a story based on the 1984 riots. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and will be released on Netflix on 16 September 2022. It was recently when the film’s release date was announced with an amazing poster on social media.

The film had already made big headlines, and the makers have now impressed the fans even more after releasing its teaser. In the well-cut 42 seconds long teaser, Diljit Dosanjh is introduced as a man who decided not to leave Delhi. He vows to stand by his family and friends in the tough time during the 1984 Riots.

Someone is seen suggesting Jogi (Diljit) to leave Delhi and shift to Punjab as it will be the safest. The man states, ‘Poori Dilli Jalne Wali Hai.. Apne Parivaar Ko Le, In Haalaat Mein Punjab Se Safe Tum Log Ke Liye Koi Aur Jagah Nahi Hai…’ To this, Jogi replies by saying, ‘Yeh Sab Parivaar Hai Mera.. Inko Chhod Ke Main Kahin Nahi Jaa Raha…’

Netflix has described the film by writing, “Dekhiye Jogi ka haunsla, Jogi ki himmat, aur Jogi ki dosti. Jogi, streams on 16th September, only on Netflix.” 

Speaking about the film, Diljit Dosanjh had a conversation with Hindustan Times and stated, “The year of my birth is 1984 as well. I have grown up hearing about real life experiences and stories about the riots and the era. In fact, I had even made a Punjabi film, Punjab 1984, sometime back, which won a National Film Award as well. So, the subject is really important for me, and Ali sir has picked the right story”.

The project was shot during the global pandemic COVID-19 and is now finally set to release on OTT Platform Netflix. The film will be released on 16 September and the fans are eagerly waiting for it. 

Now coming to the credits of Netflix’s Jogi, it is penned by Ali Abbas Zafar (also the director) and Sukhmani Sadana and is produced by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie also stars Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Kumud Mishra, Amyra Dastur, Paresh Pahuja and Hiten Tejwani along with Diljit Dosanjh.
