From Airport To Food: Check Out What Special Arrangements Are Being Made For G20 Delegates

As the capital of India ‘Delhi’, is all set to held the 18th G20 Summit on September 9 and 10, Several International Guests Have already reached there for this special event. Delhi will be shut down for three days for the highly-anticipated G20 Summit.

Leaders as prominent as US President Joe Biden, UK PM Rishi Sunak, and French President Emmanuel Macron, are going to be part of the event, so it’s obvious that heavy preparation are being done for their stay in India!

Let’s have look on what special configuration Are Being done for them.

AIRPORT 

Th3 Delhi Airport will have a dedicated corridor to ensure seamless immigration clearance for G20 delegates. As per a PTI report, a team has been formed comprising senior officials to monitor the arrival and departure of operations during the summit.

The CEO of Delhi airport Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, told the news agency that “Delhi Airport is all ready and very excited to welcome the guests who are coming to attend the G20 Summit. It is a privilege to be the gateway to India for most of the leaders and we have many of them from different parts of the world descending on India”.

Adding to this he said “We have made specific arrangements for all these guests. Most of the guests are arriving by chartered flights, or special VVIP flights. We have made arrangements for parking of these flights in collaboration with different government agencies like Delhi Police as well as the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security,” 

LUXURIOUS HOTELS

The Guests will be staying in most luxurious hotels in the national capital. 

As per the reports, arround 3,500 rooms across 21 hotels are being booked in Delhi and Gurugram to accommodate the delegates.

  • The Lalit, New Delhi
  • Le Meridian, Connaught Place, New Delhi

BEAUTIFICATION OF DELHI

The national capital is all glowing up due to the beautification drive held for the G20 Summit that will take place on 9th and 10th of September. 

Differents flowers namely Cassia fistula (amaltash), Terminalia arjuna plant, the bougainvillea varieties, Varigata, Lady Mary Baring, Mahara, Mohan, Scarlet Queen,Glabra Formosa, Peruviana Odissi, Partha, Subhra,Thimma, Spectabilis L.N Birla and many more varieties of flowers are planted at throughout the city.

Stone carved statues, Decorative panels, fountains, India’s flag, flags of the participating countries all these are being installed in the national capital.

FOOD

“The tableware and silverware depict the glorious cultural heritage of India, motifs of flowers, peacocks, and our national animal grace the plates, and other items. And, the silverware will dazzle the Heads of State with their cultural sparkle, and they will see it and exclaim wow,” the owner of the metalware firm of Jaipur, Laksh Pabuwal informed PTI.

For the G20 Summit, 15,000 silverware items were crafted by 200 artisans.

“Designs are characterised by meticulous detailing, beaded borders, and a fusion of semi-machined hand craftsmanship with contemporary casting techniques. The electroplated silver finish adds a touch of sophistication, aligning seamlessly with the grandeur of the event,” Rajeev Pabuwal, chief executive officer of IRIS Metalware, told PTI.
