The results of the assembly elections held in five states have been declared recently, in which BJP has won a sweeping victory in three states – Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, while Congress has won in Telangana and ZPM has won in Mizoram.
Aam Aadmi Party on the other hand did not win in any of the 5 states which was a major setback for them. The party even chose a TV Actress to contest elections in Madhya Pradesh but the party lost badly.
Chahat Mani Pandey is a very popular actress working in TV serials. She is originally a resident of Damoh, Madhya Pradesh. Aam Aadmi Party gave her a ticket to contest elections from Damoh assembly seat. After spreading her charm on TV, Chahat Pandey was all set to start her political innings.
She joined the Aam Aadmi Party on 29 June 2023. After this she became active in the Damoh assembly constituency. On October 2, Aam Aadmi Party released the list of candidates for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chahat Pandey’s name was mentioned there.
Chahat Pandey contested the elections but unfortunately the actress did not fare well in politics. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Chahat Pandey lost the election from Damoh assembly seat of Madhya Pradesh.
BJP’s senior leader Jayant Malaiya has won from this seat by more than 51 thousand votes. Chahat Pandey despite having 1.2 million followers on Instagram lost the elections as she only got 1200 votes.
After the defeat, the netizens have been trolling her brutally and comparing her with the other candidates of BJP. Even after having 1.2 million followers, the actress lost the elections with such a petty number of votes.
A similar situation happened in Punjab where the actor Sunny Deol contested the elections and even won the seat from Gurdaspur. But soon after, the people from that area were disappointed in him because the public blamed that he never showed up or did anything for the general public.
Even the people of Gurdaspur constituency alleged that Sunny Deol never showed up or did anything for the development of the area and they regret electing a bollywood actor as MP. This could be one of the reasons why people in Madhya Pradesh were hesitant to elect an actress as an MP.
Chahat Pandey’s Acting Career
Chahat Pandey started her acting career from Indore after completing her studies. After this, she started working in TV serials from the year 2016. She is a very famous actress of TV serials.
Chahat Pandey started her acting career at the age of 17 through the TV show Pavitra Bandhan. Apart from this, she has also worked in serials like Tenaliraman, Radha Krishna, Savdhaan India, Naagin-2, Crime Patrol.
Chahat belongs to Chandi Chopra village of Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. She studied acting from Indore and then went to Mumbai to pursue her acting career. Even though Chahat Pandey had to face defeat in the elections, she has a huge fan following on social media.
