MC Sher (Siddhant Chaturvedi in Gully Boy)
To act in a movie like Gully Boy starring well-proclaimed actors like Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt is a big thing. To outshine these masters of acting is a near to impossible thing. But the boy from Ballia, Siddhant Chaturvedi did it like a beast. Siddhant played the character of a HipHop rapper MC Sher, who guides the flows and blows of rap to Murad (Ranveer Singh). Siddhant’s expression and body language as an underground hip-hop rapper was so accurate. In the rapping parts, he clearly outclassed Ranveer Singh.
Pappi Ji (Deepak Dobriyal in Tanu Weds Manu)
Tanu Weds Manu is one of bollywood’s funniest movies. This duology includes brilliant lead actors– R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut who played the iconic Tanu and Manu’s roles. But the character who stole the show was Pappi Ji played by Deepak Dobriyal. Deepak has been in the industry for a long time but his role of Pappi made him famous among the comedy lovers. His expression, comic-timing and accent were like cherry on the cake. One of his famous dialogues “You are a good question, but your question hurt me!”, still tickles the ribs of the audience..Hilarious!!
Vinod Khanna (Naseeruddin Shah in Gehraiyaan)
In a movie starring actors like Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi, you can never think of any supporting character stealing the show. But In Gehraiyaan, the experienced and veteran Naseeruddin Shah, showed us why he is rated so high in terms of acting. In his short role of Vinod Khanna in the movie, Naseeruddin Shah completely dominated every other actor.
Ganesh (Vijay Raaz in Run)
Vijay Raaz owned the Run movie. His performance was so hilarious and mind-blowing people literally watched the Abhishek Bachchan & Bhumika Chawala starrer only for the Petticoat Baba. The movie had an average storyline but the character of an over smart guy Ganesh, finding his friend in the city was a treat to watch. Remember the ‘Kauwa Biryani scene’?, ‘Chhoti Ganga Scene‘? Or his iconic dialogue ‘Kidney Nikaal Liya Be’.
Adv. Govind (Sunny Deol In Damini)
If you haven’t watched Damini, you would never know that the iconic Sunny Deol dialogue ‘Taarikh Pe Taarikh’ came from a supporting role. Govind, a lawyer with strong muscles, who steps-in to help Damini to fight her legal battle against the guys who raped her. Sunny Deol was so strong in his character that at a point of time you would forget that Rishi Kapoor is the lead actor of the movie alongside Meenakshi Seshadri. Sunny deol was so good in this movie and his dialogues, Oh My God who can ever forget the ‘Dhai Kilo Ka Haath Dialogue’.. Excellent!!
Bandya (Rajpal Yadav in Chup Chup Ke)
Remember Chup Chup Ke, the movie in which Shahid played a dumb character? Maybe, Yes? You’ll definitely know, when we say it’s a Rajpal Yadav film that features the dialogue ‘Main Expert Hoon Mujhe Sab Aata Hai’. The Internet is full of Rajpal Yadav’s Bandya memes. Rajpal Yadav was at his best while playing Bandya’s character. Dozens of iconic comedy scenes in a single movie, isn’t it a milestone or something in itself. Rajpal was so good in this movie that for a time you’ll forget if it stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles.
Bhiku Mhatre (Manoj Bajpayee In Satya)
At present, we all know Manoj Bajpayee is one of the best lead actors in the country but in his early days, he worked as a supporting actor in many movies. One of those supporting roles was Bhiku Mhatre in the cult film ‘Satya’. Bhiku Mhatre was one such character which overshadowed the titular lead. At one point of time the audience literally felt why Satya is not Bhiku Mhatre’s film. Well, he dies before the climax but before that Manoj Bapayee completely owned the film. He was so good, his craft was on top-notch. This was also the film that gave the deserving fame to Mr. Bajpayee. Wow!
Pritam Vidrohi (Rajkumar Rao In Bareilly Ki Barfi)
Rajkumar Rao, we all know how good he is. Either lead or supporting, give him any role, he will nail it. In 2017, a Movie Bareilly Ki Barfi released starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon in lead but who stole the show? The guy who was in side role– Rajkumar Rao. Pritam Vidrohi, the character that Rao played, was a simple under confident guy, who acted as a stud of Bareilly after Ayushmann requests him for luring his love interest. But Ayushmann didn’t know that Rajkumar would lure the audience of his quota as well.
Sunny (Akshay Kumar in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi)
We have been accustomed to seeing Akshay Kumar in the lead role for so long now. But in the 2000s Akshay has played many supporting roles including one where he provided support to Salman Khan ‘Mujhse Shadi Karogi’. And instead of saying ‘providing support’, we can also say ‘overshadow’. Mujhse Shadi Karogi was a love story drama starring Salman Khan & Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. But if you have watched this movie, you already know how wicked Sunny (Akshay) owned the whole film.
Khalil (Jim Sarbh in Neerja)
Jim Sarbh, is one of the finest products of theaters in the world. The intensity he brings to the film with his performance is unmatchable. We have seen him performing outstandingly ij many movies now, but Neerja was the movie that actually presented him as the actor we know today. Jim’s character Khalil was one of the terrorists, who hijacked the plane in movie. Khalil was such a terrifying character, who can frighten you just by a look. Well, Sonam Kapoor also delivered her career best in Neerja and we are taking nothing away from her but Jim Sarbh was something else in the film.. Outstanding!!
