Mallika Sherawat attracted everyone with her bold and glamorous roles in different films. But now, it has been a long time since she has been away from the big screens.
Recently she appeared in an interview with Prabhat Khabar, and some part of the conversation have grabbed headlines. Mallika talked about the changes happening in this entertainment industry and actresses are more confident with their bodies.

Moreover what caught everyone’s attention was the moment when she spoke about her film Murder and compare it with Deepika Padukone’s Gehraiyaan. Not only this, she also went on to talk about Deepika Padukone’s intimate scenes in the movie.
The Deepika starrer Gehraiyaan was directed by Shakun Batra and this dark romantic thriller movie film also featured Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandey in the leading roles. While actors like Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah, and Rajat Kapoor were seen in supporting roles.
Coming back to Mallika’s statement, the actress said she wore a bikini and kissed on screen 15 years ago. However, she feels people were too narrow-minded at that time.
Talking about changes, Mallika Sherawat said, “Earlier, the heroines were either too good, Sati-Savitri types who were too innocent to know anything, or they were the characterless vamps. These were the only two types of roles written for heroines. Today’s change shows women as humans. They can be happy or sad. She can make mistakes, she can falter, and you love them despite all of that.”

“The heroines are more confident about their bodies as well. Such as hue and cry were created when I did the murder. People said all kinds of things about the kiss and the bikini. What Deepika Padukone did in Gehraiyaan I did that 15 years ago, but people were too narrow-minded back then. I should tell you that a section of the industry and media was mentally torturing me. These people only talked about my body and glamour, not my acting. I worked in Dashavataram, Pyaar Ke Side Effects and Welcome but none talked about my acting”, the actress also added.
On the work front, Mallika Sherawat who was last seen in a digital show called Nakaab on MX player will be next seen in the comedy-drama movie, Rk/Rkay, along with Rajat Kapoor, Kubbra Sait, and Ranvir Shorey.
