Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh To Release On Dussehra Weekend At Amazon Prime

Earlier this week, Vicky Kaushal shared the news that he has finished dubbing of his most awaited film Sardar Udham Singh. Sharing a picture from the studio, he wrote, “Dubbed and dusted.” The film was expected to release on OTT platform, but the team of Sardar Udham Singh hadn’t revealed it.

Now, finally the makers have decided for a digital release skipping its theatrical release. Source disclosed, “Sardar Udham Singh will premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video during the Dussehra weekend. The tentative release date at the moment is October 16 and the team is supremely excited to present their film to the audience. It was meant for a theatrical viewing; however, an unprecedented situation has resulted in a direct to OTT premiere.”

Meanwhile, talking about the film, it has been directed by Shoojit Sircar. Sircar announced this most ambitious project of his career, Sardar Udham Singh, with Vicky Kaushal playing the role of the revolutionary freedom fighter in March 2019. Also, it is said that this film is made on a big scale with a massive budget.

The shooting was done in Russia, UK, Ireland, Germany, and North India. It is set against the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre with Vicky as Sardar Udham Singh who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer to seek revenge for the 1919 incident.
